Early Morning Shiatsu Massage

A skilled shiatsu practitioner adjusts which meridians and pressure points they emphasise based on the time of day and your intent. Morning sessions activate the yang channels — Stomach, Large Intestine, and Gallbladder — which govern energy, digestion, and decision-making. Evening sessions emphasise yin channels associated with rest and restoration. Both use the same techniques but with different therapeutic focus.

Morning shiatsu enhances rather than impairs concentration. The meridian activation and nervous system balancing involved in a shiatsu session improve cognitive function — clients consistently report sharper thinking, better composure, and greater focus for several hours after treatment. It is widely used by business travellers specifically for pre-meeting preparation.

Before exercise, shiatsu functions as a sophisticated warm-up — activating circulation and preparing joints and muscles for activity. After exercise, it aids recovery by clearing metabolic waste from tissues. Both are valuable. If your morning involves a workout followed by a business day, shiatsu after exercise and before professional activities is the optimal sequence.
