Thai massage is a 2,500-year-old healing system that combines acupressure, assisted yoga stretches, and energy line work. Often called "lazy person's yoga," it improves flexibility and energy flow without any effort on your part.
The therapist uses their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches while applying deep muscle compression and rhythmic pressing along energy lines (sen lines). No oil is used.
Passive stretching improves range of motion
Clears blocked energy pathways
Compression techniques release tight muscles
Stretches help align the body

Communication about pressure intensity is encouraged
โThe Thai massage was incredible โ I felt so much more flexible afterwards. The therapist used proper technique the entire session, none of that tourist-spa rushing. My back and hips had been tight for weeks from the flight; an hour later they weren't.โ

No! Thai massage meets you where you are. The therapist adjusts all stretches to your current flexibility level. Over time, regular Thai massage can actually improve your flexibility.
It shouldn't be painful, though some stretches and pressure points may feel intense. Good communication with your therapist ensures the pressure stays within your comfort zone.
